On-snow training is at the
Kitzsteinhorn Ski Area (2,400-9,600 ft.), which has some of
the finest year-round skiing in the world. Kitzsteinhorn, a
ten minute drive from the village of Kaprun, is a glacier
with training facilities that attract national ski teams
from around the globe. Even in the summer and fall, this
area boasts of runs over two miles long, several trams (one
of which is supported by the worlds tallest lift tower), a
high speed gondola, two stand-up trains, seven T-bars, three
chair lifts, two pony lifts, several restaurants and a ski
shop. The spectacular beauty of the glacier and its
surrounding area, optimal snow conditions and excellent
facilities make Kitzsteinhorn one of the premier ski
training areas in the world. |
